Our Acting Masterclass will help you to hone your skills as an actor, develop a process to both acting and auditions and provide you with the opportunity to perform in a safe environment while receiving honest, down to earth and relevant advice. Please wear comfortable clothing, flat shoes and bring a bottle of water.
Class synopsis:
The day will cover vocal, movement and acting techniques, and will be split into two parts. We will explore Alexander Technique and movement in the morning which will help you with the alignment of your body and realising its full potential as a performer.
Working in groups, we will go on to explore improvisation and classical acting techniques to create and invent characters. You will perform both in front of the group and on camera, working in pairs, small groups and on your own. We will also cover scripts, how to work with text and how best to deliver it.
The afternoon will focus on the creation of your own character and monologue, which will then be delivered to the camera culminating in a mock 'casting' session. Feedback will be given, both on an individual basis and within the group, with the emphasis shifting onto audition technique.
